I’ve been an off-and-on blogger since 1999, when I was inspired by the documentary, homepage. Then, in my 20’s, I started my first blog and have since developed an evolved version for every major decade in my life.  Wyrobot.com is simply the latest version, for a fresh 40-something version of myself.

I grew up on interchangeable military bases throughout the south, finishing school and going to college in the Dallas area. I studied photography at the University of Texas at Arlington and at one time, planned on a career as an artist. At a major fork in the road, I opted to work in commercial advertising rather than take an academic path and never looked back. I worked for entrepreneurs and start-up companies for the next 10 years and learned about the fundamentals of marketing and building a successful business through mentors, trial-by-fire start up environments, and a formal education, years later. I went on to get an MBA in Strategic Management from The University of Dallas Graduate School of Management and worked in international organizations on the corporate and agency side in leadership marketing roles.

I founded a marketing consulting firm, BraveMatters, in 2008 with a small group of partners. BraveMatters develops strategies, implements marketing programs and advises companies on the best ways of uncovering opportunities in their markets and creating strong sustainable brands.

I’ve spent most of my life in the Dallas area, but now live in Norman, OK with my wife, our lovely daughter Lily and two dogs. We’re expecting our second daughter in March, 2010.
